tumblr is voiding canon urls, and going after people who have them, apparently. i use a monitoring tools to monitor graveyard urls that i’d like to save (it sends you an email when something changes on the webpage, for example when it gets deleted). i still had an old alert on the bucky url, which, i knew who had that saved as a sideblog – suddenly it got a ‘not found’ error but was unsaveable.

tumblr is once again punishing its active users. my sideblog barnes (my previous url) had the exact same thing happen. here’s the email i got:

let’s get one thing straight: i got this url, and barnes, fair and square. i asked for them, and they were given to me. i didn’t even trade or buy, which is against community guidelines. i broke no rules to get these urls, and now my two fav urls that i had and was planning on using literally forever (like, until i decided to leave the platform, at which point i was planning on simply giving them away to people who would actually use them), and now i’m blog294732.
