hello… im emma… im 19… i live in chicago.. im a lesbian… & i (still) need some cash 🙁
i have been unable to work bc of (1) a rather severe uptick in my mental illness, (2) a huge school workload, and (3) a lot of unforeseen “family” stress.
point 1: i have depression, some type of anxiety disorder, ocd, seasonal affective disorder, and some issues w/ childhood trauma (i cant say ptsd for sure but i have a lot of its symptoms). ive also had a history of self harm, disordered eating, and [redacted] ideation. as well, i have really bad chronic body pain & terrible issues with sleep.
point 2: luckily the semester is almost over, i think i have like 6 weeks left, but i really really need to push through these next couple weeks. i have filed for disability with my school but they are packed to hell and idk when theyre going to get around to my file. im a sophomore computer animation BFA major + potential motion graphics minor, with honors.
point 3: after a lifetime of emotional/verbal abuse from my mother, i have decided to cut her off. i dont think permanently, but… for a very long time. if you are at all familiar with abuse from a maternal figure, especially if you are a girl, especially if she was a single mother, especially if the two of you lived poor… you know how much it fucks you up. and you may also know how much it fucks you up to cut her off. no matter what it sucks.
so! if you decide to donate, it will be going to food, groceries, medicine*, and co-pays. i have a meeting with my therapist every friday ($20), and on november 30, i have an appointment with a psychiatrist to see about a med change (fuck prozac!). i also need to get my birth control refilled soon – that should be free, or something super cheap like $5, but im not completely sure. (*i do smoke weed to help. I completely understand if you dont want to donate bc of that.)
please, do not donate if you are a minor, if you’re struggling very hard yourself, or if you are a friend of mine.
